Ardmore Point |
Ardmore Point is a good area for general birding, it is particulalrly good in Spring/Autumn and winter. Summer time can be very quiet with little or no bird movements through the area. The site holds the Clyde Areas only regular wintering Slavonian Grebes as well Great Crested and occasional Red-necked Grebe,also good for Red-throated Divers as well as occasional Black-throated and Great Northern Diver.
The nearby Cardross Bay Good for wintering waders and wildfowl, also regularly has Slavonian Grebe present in winter.

Ardoch |
Situated near Cardross, this site is good for Scaup in winter, it can also have Goldeneye, Wigeon, Teal as well as occaisional grebes and divers. (Location map)

Baron's Haugh RSPB Reserve |
Just a short distance from Motherwell, Baron's Haugh nature reserve has something for you to see in all seasons. The wetlands attract wading birds and wildfowl during winter, while the Clyde itself provides a home for kingfishers and otters. The woodland and parkland contains a wide variety of small birds, with woodpeckers and nuthatches being joined by migrant warblers in spring.

Hogganfield Loch LNR |
Hogganfield Park is a superb location for bird watching, it's situated on the NE side of Glasgow near J12 of the M8. The loch is one of the best locations in the Clyde area for close views of some normaly shy wildfowl in winter, they include Whooper Swan, Goosander, Goldeneye, Pochard, as well as the usual Mute Swan, Greylag Goose, Mallard, Tufted Duck, Coot, Moorhen, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Herring Gull and Black-headed Gull.
